I wanted to pay tribute to the old classic invader and monster movies of the 1950s. You can feel the stop motion, strings and painted laser effects.
Everything was brought to life in After Effects and Element 3D, even the animation. Multiple sup/compositions with different frame rates were used to create the "cheap" look.

To gain an uninterrupted workflow while animating, compositing and building up everything in After Effects and Element 3D I used multiple cameras and Null Objects in each sub composition and linked them with "main control" Nulls and cameras in my main composition.
This setup allows me to see an instant result (including the different frame rates) without rendering and recomposing single layers.
Robot Element 3D Model - The single parts are editable in Element 3D.
